From the very first time my wife, the actress and writer, Clarinda Ross, first read Lee Smith's wonderful novel of family intrigue, she knew that she wanted to see it as a movie.  With Lee's blessing, we have been moving forward with that notion ever since.  Our plans now are not just limited by the notion of seeing this wonderful book turned into a movie; we are also working to see it produced for television and stage, as well.  Clarinda has been commissioned by the Barter Theater, one of only a handful of sustaining companies in the country, to create a stage version for their 2015 - 16 season.
